Daren Taylor is a nationally produced, award winning playwright, founding member of the Obie winning theater company The Movement, and an accomplished filmmaker. Born and raised in Washington, DC, he started his career as an actor, but quickly found a passion for writing and directing. From a young age, Daren understood the transformative power that storytelling has on a community, and he has dedicated his life to uplifting underrepresented voices/stories in order to create positive change in our society.

 

As a writer/director, Daren is driven to tell stories that reflect the world he grew up in: diverse, nuanced, riddled with struggle yet filled with hope.
